This is a journey of discovering strength through weakness, and the author learns to embrace the face that we are all dependent on God and one another. This books will inspire readers who appreciate beautiful writing coupled with deep insights about life and faith.

My Veiw:

Wow this book was amazing It had me crying from the start. Amy Julia told such and amazing and true story with this beautifully written book. It felt like you were right there from the start to the end and you traveled threw there life with them.

It shows that even if you think you have a perfect life that anything can happen and just because things not so great may happen in your life it does not make it any less perfect! Penny is a blessing and an angel and just because she was born with Down Syndrome does not make her any less perfect then if she would have been born with out it.

I learned a lot about Down's Sydrome and will forever view the matter in a different way.I loved her Journal entries and just how open and honest the whole story was!I don't want to give the book away so please pick up a copy for yourself its a great heat felt read and im sure you wont be disappointed.

I received this book from Bethany House Publishers for review and was in no way asked to give a good review!

From Goodreads:

Rebekah Hendricks dreams of a life far beyond her family's farm in Oklahoma, and when dashing aviator Arthur Samson promised adventure in the big city, she is quick to believe he's the man she's meant to marry. While she waits for the Great War to end and Arthur to return to her so they can pursue all their plans, her mother's sister falls ill. Rebekah seizes the opportunity to travel to Texas to care for Aunt Adabelle, seeing this chance to be closer to Arthur's training camp as God's approval of her plans.

But the Spanish flue epidemic changes everything. Faced with her aunt's death, Arthur's indecisiveness, and four children who have no one else to care for them, Rebeka is torn between the desire to escape the type of life she's always led and the unexpected love that just might change the dream of her heart.

My Opinion:

I LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS BOOK! Its nothing like any of the other books i have been reading lately and i must say it was a welcomed change!

I feel in love with Rebekah and all the childnen right from the start! This was a beautiful write and i dont want to give the story away but she faces alot of tough stuff and it makes it even worse cause of the time era she was in. She is a brave woman and does what im sure very few other girls at her age would agree to do in this time period. I would have done it tho.

Wings of a Dream made me laugh, made me angry and had me in tears all at the same time! Anne made sure you knew each character of her book inside and out you learn their fears and dreams and its like your right living life right beside them all.

I could not put this book down once i picked it up and had it read in one setting. I honestly hope that there are a few more books after this one.

This was a great read and i highly suggest that you read it!

I received Wings of a Dream by Anne Mateer from Bethany House Publishers for review.

The Christian Zombie Killers Handbook: Slaying the Living Dead Within

The Christian Zombie Killers Handbook-BY Jeff Kinley

Paperback: 272 pages
Publisher: Thomas Nelson (October 11, 2011)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1595554386
ISBN-13: 978-1595554383

From Good reads:
The Christian Zombie Killers Handbook delivers a fresh, relevant look at the doctrines of sin, grace, and salvation.

Ben Forman was just an ordinary guy, a young professional starting his first job and falling in love with his girlfriend. Living in the outskirts of a southern city, he didn't think the zombie activity so common in the major cities would hit so close to home. But it was becoming clear that the mysterious infection reanimating the deceased was a growing epidemic across the country. The question was, would he stay alive or become the undead?

In this one-of-kind approach to teaching about sin, grace, and salvation, The Christian Zombie Killers Handbook tracks the fictional life of Ben Forman and offers solid Bible teaching to help readers understand the gravity and consequences of life without God, of life as a zombie. Ephesians 2:4-5 says, "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved." Without the salvation Jesus offers, we are all as good as dead. But as this book teaches in a winsome, cutting-edge, culturally relevant style, anyone can kill the zombie inside, escape the clutches of the undead, and come alive by the supernatural power of God's salvation.

My Opinion:

Wow I did not know what to expect really when i picked up this book but i have to say i liked it quite a bit.. I wont lie I wanted it mainly for the title and the cover lol but i really enjoyed both the fiction and non fiction parts of the book ..and i liked how it went from the zombie story and then to a non fiction explanation of it and the book really makes you think at least i know it made me think..I love how the its uses the use of zombies to describe the inner demon we all have in ourselves and alot of the points are valid and i would have to agree.

I personally really enjoyed getting to know Ben and the rest of the characters in the book.. i have such a hard time with reviews cause it seems like everything i want to say is going to some way or another give away the story. Im just happy to say im glad that we dont live in a world with the zombies that Ben lives with but I guess in all reality those Zombies would be better to live with the ones that we do live with!

My Rating would be 4 stars just because i hate the ending of the Zombie story!

Ascent from Darkness: How Satan's Soldier Became God's Warrior

Paperback, 256 pages
Expected publication: October 4th 2011 by Thomas Nelson

From Goodreads:

The redemptive story of one man's agonizing journey from depths of Satanism to a radical new life in Christ.

A life of difficulty and disappointment set 33-three year old Michael Leehan up for the worst decision of his life-to make a deal with the Devil to follow and serve him. Practicing the dark arts that include ritualistic cuttings and blood sacrifices, while fine tuning his manipulation and control skills, Michael launched into a twenty year downward spiral that included job loss and detachment from loved ones, and even jail time

But God had another plan that included a group of Christian men to love him and pray for him-even when it became evident his assignment from Satan was to kill their pastor, Craig Groeschel

The life Michael Leehan lives today is an incredible testimony of the transforming power of God's mercy and grace, but is also a wakeup call to the church to be fully aware of the spiritual war that is going on all around them, and to the ultimate battle for their souls.

"I am sending you to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me." Acts 26:18

My opinion:

Wow this book was amazing I could not put it down. Mike pulls you into the story within the first paragraph and it continued to make me want to just keep reading more. I loved his style of writting and how he told his story and it was not at all overly pushing any religon down your throat.

I am not sure that I honestly believe all the things he said that happened but it could be true there may just be a whole spiritual world out there that we really have no idea about.

This book is definitely an eye opener I learned alot about both Christianity and Satanism... and some parts of the Satanism were just plain freaky.

Reading Mike's story he makes you feel like you are right there with him from the beginning of his story when he was only 19 to the end of the book, he describes everything with great detail and it's like you are reliveing every memory with him.

Living in Oklahoma his story hit home on alot of different levels I do believe that both believers and non believers will enjoy this book and be effected by it in one way other but that will have to be your choice it's definitely worth a shot though.

The only thing I did not enjoy about this book was the frequent reference to the band The Doors like it was the music's evil power that aided in all the evil in his life...I love the Doors and that part bothered me a bit.

I would say overall I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

Surprised by Oxford: A Memoir
by Carolyn Weber

From Goodreads:

A "girl-meets-God" style memoir of an agnostic who, through her surprising opportunity to study at Oxford, comes to a dynamic personal faith in God.

Carolyn Weber arrives for graduate study at Oxford University a feminist from a loving but broken family, suspicious of men and intellectually hostile to all things religious. As she grapples with her God-shaped void alongside the friends, classmates, and professors she meets, she tackles big questions in search of love and a life that matters.

This savvy, beautifully written, credible account of Christian conversion follows the calendar and events of the school year as it entertains, informs, and promises to engage even the most skeptical and unlikely reader.

My Opinion:

Ok so this is my first review and I have to say the book was not really my type of reading. I tried to get into it but it just kept dragging on and on and i dont mind books that long, but they need to keep my interest and this one just did not do it. Everything was summed up in the last few pages and it was like wow its over finally but then kind of like it was a waste of time to get there! Maybe I should stay away from Memoir's cause i just could not get interested in it!

I dont want to give the book away so i'm not going to get into all the details yes its Christian and it was a good read in that part. I dont feel like it was at all over powering in that aspect! It makes you think and gives you a new way to look at things and maybe if your having doubt and read it, it will give you back your hope!

The writing of this book was amazing. I loved all the literary references! I also love how descriptive she is makes you feel like you are right there in Oxford!

I would like to also add that i love the book itself, its beautiful the cover has such a great feel to it and its has such pretty side flap things (sorry cant think of what its called) with a beautiful design on it and the chapter pages are really pretty with a cloud like print! Im a sucker for packaging lol! I will say it has to one of the pettiest books i own now!

Sorry I'm not all that great with wording things lol and it is my first review but im sure I will get better with time.

Hello and Welcome!!

Welcome to my blog! I am no where near a professional this is just a place for me to post my book reviews and thoughts and ramblings on books im reading of have read.

Reading is my life,my passion!

I have loved books since as long as I can remember! Before I even knew how to read I was obbessed with books my favorite book as a child was the Pokey little puppy I refused to go to bed without having it read to me lol! I started reading at a young age before I was even in preschool I was able to read some words! My first few words I remember reading were TO OPEN it was printed on the lil milk cartons my gram would have at her house! Then one of my greatest memmories from my childhood was in kindergarten when I took the book The Gingerbread Man to school and read it to my class lol I was so happy! I had a high reading level all thru elementry school! By third grade I was reading at a highschool reading lvl and by middle school a college.

So its pretty apparent I was reading books that were way to advance for me lol and thats how I fell in love with V.C Andrews I think I was in about 5th grade the first time I read Flowers in the Attic it may have been 6th but I was hooked after that and just kept reading the rest of them lol I have every book from her collection except for a few of the newer ones! I still love her books but of course they are not as good as the ones she herself wrote! I also liked the normal teen books around that time had alot of goosebumps books but they got kinda boring I liked the fear street ones better and Christopher Pike books!

I love all types of books from romance to thriller. Love the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz! Love mystery books and this past year I have been big into Young adult novels just cant seem to get enough these days lol! Major love for the Hunger Games and The Mortal Instruments!!!

Hmm lets see what else I am an advid Goodreads member I could stay on that site for hours.

Like I said im no where near a pro when it comes to writing im horrible with punctuation lol and tend to use chat text alot its a bad habbit but I will try my best!

I hope you all enjoy my blog. Please leave me any suggestions you have or any book recommendations!
